Between Tides is an exhibition of work by artists Monika Rosen and Shannon Dickie in conversation on the ebbs and flows of life’s shifting seasons. Water, both a literal and a felt metaphorical thread, flows through canvas and film echoing the push and pull of memory, perception and emotion.

Through the lens of artist Shannon Dickie, the tides speak to the journey of one’s 30s, marked by motherhood and moving to a new city. Her softly blurred paintings hold the ephemeral quality of memory and cherish the moments of beauty found in the transience and transformative capacities of life’s chapters.

Monika Rosen's work delves into undulating interior landscapes—embracing the seasons on a journey of connection and mental health resilience. With a language that blends realism with vibrant, painterly brushwork, and accompanied by en-plein-air landscapes, she evokes the rhythms of emotion, time, and an interconnected natural world.

Together, their work drifts in and out of the visible and the felt, inviting viewers to sit within the in-between—to reflect in the stillness and the movement, finding gratitude for the space where transformation continues to unfold.
